The service

Aldus helps you build a reading habit. It offers public-domain classics to read in the app, a timer for books you own, and book clubs.

Books

Free shelf books are in the public domain. Club books are books you buy yourself. Aldus does not host copyrighted text.

Age

Aldus is for readers 18 and over. By creating an account you confirm you are at least 18.

Your account

You are responsible for your account. You can delete it at any time from You, then Settings.

Membership

Aldus membership is an auto-renewing subscription sold through Apple's App Store. Apple handles payment, renewal, cancellation and refunds under its own terms. A free trial, when offered, becomes a paid subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Manage or cancel any time in your Apple ID settings.

What you write

You own what you write in Aldus. You let us store it and show it only to the people you choose to share it with, so the app works.

Discuss

Discuss replies are written by AI and can be wrong. Don't rely on them for anything that matters.

Conduct

Be decent in clubs and discussions. We may remove content or accounts that harass others or break the law.

No warranty

Aldus is provided as is. We do our best to keep it running but cannot promise it always will.

Limits

To the extent the law allows, Rendezvous Ventures, Inc. is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid for Aldus in the 12 months before the claim.

Changes

We may update these terms. We will tell you in the app when we do.
